Romantik Hotel Hof zur Linde

The garden access from our really spacious room was lovely in the morning, watching squirrels run up and down the trees. It’s a very nice, old-fashioned hotel. Breakfast was basic, and the bar service was a bit slow.

The one bright spot on our second visit was the waiter at dinner one evening, who was exceptionally friendly and fun. At reception, though, the welcome wasn’t friendly. On my first stay, I was bitten on the back by bed bugs during the night. I told the hotel, but nothing more was done about it. On the second stay, staff didn’t make up the room even though I left the “Please make up the room” sign on the door and requested it. The water bottle had its lid on but was empty, apparently left that way by the previous guests. The shower “shampoo” was nearly empty when we arrived, so on the second morning I had to wash with the hand soap by the sink.

We make the drive to Germany for business every year, and when we can, we finish at the Hof Zur Linde before returning to the UK. It’s a lovely setting, with excellent accommodation and service. Parking is free and easy to get to, and the first class restaurant is good value. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of power sockets. WiFi is free too, which makes this a good hotel for a longer stay. I thoroughly recommend it.

We had a memorable romantic getaway here. The hotel exceeded what we expected, with a lovely green, quiet setting and a spectacular room where every detail felt high quality. The restaurant food was fantastic, and the service was great. We’ll be back for sure.
