Schaferhof Dircks Fewo 1

The kids especially loved walking around the farm and feeding the animals. We had a wonderful stay at the Dircks sheep farm.

The apartment was extremely spacious and very clean, but I'm finding the rating hard to settle on. We came for an off-season weekend, which may explain the state of the playground. It was really run-down, with duck droppings all over the trampoline, slide, and swings. The farmer's wife was so unfriendly that we didn't want to ask her anything and felt unwelcome on the farm. He was very nice, though, and told us a bit about the sheep. You can watch the cows grazing, but you can't really get close to the donkey, horse, or goat. There's nothing around, so arriving by car is best.

Our little daughter was thrilled by the animals and playground, and she even took her first steps here! ☺️☺️ We loved the peaceful setting and had a fantastic holiday. The apartments are comfortable and spacious, and you can rent bikes right on the farm, though we didn't this time. Walking around the farm to see the animals is highly recommended. Getting close to them was an unforgettable experience for our daughter, and lovely for us parents too. The North Sea, seal sanctuary, and other attractions are only a short drive away. Our next holiday is practically booked already! 🙂

We loved how clean, cozy, and comfortable our accommodation on the farm was. The playground and sandpit were a big hit with the children, who could play while we enjoyed the quiet countryside. The warm welcome from the shepherd family also made a lasting impression. They took time to explain farm life and answer the kids' questions. They had a very North Frisian manner, but were warm despite the cold North Sea weather, and great with our young children. The kids got to feed lambs, pet the old goat, and ride the gentle ponies, learning about nature as they went. Lambs, calves, chickens, and ducks in the green pastures made the place feel far removed from everyday life. And then there was Joy, the sweet farm dog and our family favorite. His playful, friendly nature made the children smile and had us laughing too. He seemed to welcome us himself, wagging his tail as he led us around the property like the self-appointed mayor. Our family holiday at the Dircks Shepherd's Farm in Westerhever was unforgettable and left us with warm memories. The peaceful nature, friendly hospitality, and all those experiences made our stay at the Schäferhof in North Friesland feel a little magical. We'll definitely return and recommend the place to everyone.
