Pension Schweizerhaus

The hotel is beautiful, and the room matched the website. Check-in was automated and easy to follow, including unlocking and locking the doors with our phones. We had two single beds, so couples should check the arrangement with the innkeeper in advance, as I didn’t. The rural Bavarian setting is lovely, but it seems to draw spiders. At 2 a.m. my girlfriend woke up screaming because they were crawling on the ceiling. I got rid of them, and we went back to sleep, but about 20 minutes later more appeared. I wasn’t bothered since I consider spiders harmless, but she was. There’s no 24-hour front desk, so we spent the rest of the night in the car. The innkeeper didn’t offer the partial discount I’d hoped for. Most guests probably wouldn’t mind the spiders, but for us they were a problem.

Our room was a lovely, large family room with separate rooms. We were unlucky to get one beside the street, so there was light and noise inside. The corridor had a drinks fridge and coffee and tea facilities, which were handy and fairly priced.

We only spent one night here, but the room was warm, clean, and spacious, and the hospitality was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious too. I’d come back if I’m in the area.

Such a great place, with a lovely atmosphere and good vibes everywhere. Everything was really clean, the staff were nice, and breakfast was delicious. One of our top ten pensions in Europe. Thanks!
