Hotel am Kochbrunnen

We left without paying because the reception wasn't staffed and the checkout instructions hadn't been clear. Before leaving, I wrote a note with my details asking them to call about payment. Even so, they accused me of walking out without paying, and the staff were unfriendly when I said I was happy to pay for what they called a “75€ room,” which everyone should know is worth 15€. The place smelled of urine, the walls were paper thin, and it was one of the worst places I've stayed. It wasn't worth 75€. The fact I'm taking time to write this says plenty about the service and hotel.

We stayed three nights and would definitely return to this cute hotel. It's very close to the center, and the staff welcomed us warmly. They were kind and friendly, and upgraded our room when we arrived. The room was spacious, with a small kitchenette equipped with a stove, plates, cutlery, and a kettle. The room wasn't cleaned very well, and there wasn't full reception coverage. The bed was old and uncomfortable, and with no window covers, the first ray of sun will wake you up. Bad hotel, I wouldn't recommend it.

The rooms have a nice old-fashioned look, but for this price I'd expect a better standard in the 21st century. Breakfast could use improvement too, especially since there were no scrambled eggs.
