NH Wiesbaden

The heat made the stay miserable. It was a hot summer, the balconies were too old to use, and we couldn’t even open a window. The air conditioning didn’t work, so the hotel had put electronic fans in the rooms. It was over 30 degrees inside with no way to get fresh air. The room was fairly clean, but very old and worn. The bathroom was okay, though the toilet seat was so low that older people might struggle to stand up. We skipped the bar and breakfast. At check-in, the receptionist mentioned the heat problem, and after that I didn’t want to spend more money at the hotel. The room wasn’t cheap enough to make up for such a poor night’s stay.

Our room had a nice view and was spacious. The beds were okay, not too soft. It wasn’t ready when we arrived, but the woman at reception was polite and got it prepared quickly. The next morning we found both the coffee and tea pots full of moldy water and dirty. The hotel was nice and the staff were great, but housekeeping really needs to clean those pots.

The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and nice quality. I only stayed one night, and everything was fine. The hotel isn’t especially modern, but it was clean and the staff were friendly. My room was fine, though the bed was a bit hard for me. Some people probably like a firm mattress. If you want somewhere functional with a good breakfast and don’t mind dated decor, this works.

The staff were friendly, accommodating, and happy to help. The rooms look a little dated, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was private. It’s conveniently close to the base housing where our friends were staying, and not far from Wiesbaden’s charming downtown. A nice, adequate hotel.
