Stryckhaus

We had a lovely time. The food was delicious every day, and the team were polite and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, and the pool and sauna area was amazing.

We had booked for eight days, but on day four we had to leave early because of a family emergency. The hotel charged us 90% of the remaining stay under its terms. When we called a couple of hours later to ask if we could finish our holiday, they said the hotel was booked. Since the bill had already been prepared, we’d need to make a new booking at full price to stay. I understand the hotel needs to make a profit, but some leniency would have been appreciated. We paid €1800, including €1000 for days we didn’t use the room, and it was booked again for other guests, so the hotel made money from it twice. The location is good, the hotel is nice, the food is good, and the rooms are clean and spacious. But customer service has a long way to go.

I spent nearly two weeks here and found it a lovely hotel with nice staff who took care of everything. The only thing I’d ask them to improve is the guest WiFi speed, though that seems to be a problem in almost every hotel. I’ll be back soon.

The food was amazing, and the hotel was clean with friendly staff. It’s also an excellent base for some of the best hiking trips nearby.
