Stadthotel Schwarzer Baer

Parking is available on site for a small fee, and the hotel offers good value, including a nice breakfast. Boutique Hotel Schwarzer Baer is right in the middle of town, which is convenient. Our room was clean and nicely updated. My only complaint was the water pressure.

We stayed overnight at Hotel Schwarzer. The room was cozy and well kept, and the location was convenient. Water from the shower leaked a little onto the bathroom floor while it was running. The staff were helpful and professional. They let us store our luggage before check-in, which saved us from hauling it around. Breakfast was good, tasty and filling.

The manager was so kind. She stored our luggage and even called a taxi so we wouldn't have to walk to the train station in the rain. We could reach all the city's most famous sites in just a few minutes on foot. The hotel sits on Wittenberg's main street, but it's still quiet, and the Christmas Market is only a 2-minute walk away if you're there at Christmas. My husband and I loved our stay. The rooms are simple, extremely clean, and comfortable, and breakfast was included and great. The restaurant next door felt like a real German pub. We'd highly recommend staying at the Ringhotel Schwarzer Baer and visiting the amazing city of Wittenberg. It was refreshing after the chaos of Berlin.

You can get around the whole town in about 6 hours, and it's easy to reach by car or train. I took the train from Berlin, with services in both directions every two hours. I visited in August, and it was really quiet with few tourists. It feels like a little historic town for a day visit, with museums, beautiful buildings, and historic figures and events to learn about. There are shops and cafes around town. The cafes were okay, but most shops were closed when I visited on a Saturday.
