Premier Inn Wolfsburg City Centre

Just five minutes from the VW Factory and Autostadt, with a huge outlet mall a couple of blocks away for shoppers. The Premier Inn, Wolfsburg was modern and well appointed, and cost less than I expected for that level. I had a comfortable room, enjoyed the lounge in the evening and the delicious breakfast, and appreciated the secure underground parking. Very good value. I'd happily stay again.

The staff were friendly, and the room was clean with good decoration. Cost efficiency was very good. The digital air conditioner and heater worked very well. Noise was okay on the sixth floor. I could just about hear snoring next door if I listened carefully, but it didn't bother me. The curtain let in a moderate amount of light, not ideal but tolerable. The location was okay, about a ten-minute walk from the train station.

The rooms were excellent, but some staff interactions had a negative effect on my stay. Anzhela and Katja were attentive, professional, and helpful, and their name tags made them easy to identify. I had to stay in Wolfsburg unexpectedly and called ahead. A staff member told me that if we arrived within an hour, we could book at reception for 87 euros. We agreed and got there around 10 p.m. At the desk, a middle-aged, medium-height woman with black hair, glasses, and slightly darker skin spoke loudly. I felt she was being disrespectful, so I politely asked her to stay calm and reminded her I was a customer. She eventually calmed down. Even after I explained several times that we'd been told we could book there, she denied it and asked us to make an online reservation at a higher price. We booked online for February 3-4, but the dates unexpectedly changed to February 4-5. I explained again, but the staff didn't help. Later, the tall blonde shift manager with glasses came over. I described what had happened in detail, but she didn't make eye contact or offer assistance. The black-haired woman also continued behaving in a way that made me uncomfortable while I spoke to the manager. It made the whole situation stressful and difficult. From my stay, I felt that some staff didn't show the professionalism and courtesy of others I'd met, and it affected the guest experience. I hope management reviews these incidents to improve the experience and staff training.

The interaction left me with a poor impression. I made what seemed like a simple, reasonable request at the front desk, but the staff wouldn't help or suggest a useful alternative. They came across as dismissive instead of trying to find a solution. Good service means communicating and helping guests with even small problems. That wasn't my experience here.
