The two lovely people who run the house are what give it its special charm. For an active holiday and exploring the north of the island, the location is close to ideal, and it's hard to find a better deal. The area isn't for everyone, though, so it depends what you're after. You're less than five minutes from the Wolgast ferry station, and the house sits right across from the Baltic Sea Cycle Route, which runs far into Poland and along the whole Baltic coast in the other direction. The Peene River is about five minutes away, flowing into the Achterwasser lagoon. You can rent a boat there, and the Peene Bridge is a popular attraction too. There's a small shop at the gas station. Wolgast town center is only 5 to 10 minutes away by train or bike. Its lovely museum harbor and charming old town are drawing more day trippers, with bars, cafes, and restaurants for every budget, and something new to discover each year.
