Hotel am Schlosspark

The waiter who looked after our 93 guests was diligent, attentive, professional, and really on point for nearly six hours. A second waitress joined him later in the evening. The manager, though, made the whole day feel uncomfortable. She seemed arrogant and, to me, close to racist, as if we were being watched. I had to repeat my orders because she kept bringing the wrong drinks, and once she cleared away my drink so I had to order it again. She also kept shutting the windows even though the room had no AC and was too hot. The waiters had opened them for ventilation, and she had to be told over and over to open them again. That should have been common sense. She was opinionated, despite being paid for the service she was providing. My brother and sister-in-law's wedding party was on 3 September 2016. Some of us flew in just for the occasion, so we didn't expect to feel judged for who we are. Instead of checking whether we were all right or whether our drivers had arrived, the manager told us to go outside and keep quiet because she didn't want to disturb the guests sleeping in the hotel. It was one thing after another. I'm not racist, but after being treated this way, I strongly feel the waiter should be promoted to manager. He was a fine gentleman who looked after everyone carefully. If the manager stays in her position, she should stay in the back office or put up a sign saying, "Enter and wait for service." Someone needs to tell her to look beyond colour or change jobs. We're never coming back to the restaurant. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

The location worked perfectly for our friends' wedding, and we had lovely rooms and friendly staff.

The service was very good.

The room was nice, with a bathroom and shower, but that was about the only positive. The hotel felt completely deserted and was incredibly quiet. Over our three-night stay, the only person we saw was a cleaner who brought towels once. Even at breakfast or dinner in the restaurant next door, there were just three or four other customers. It's really disappointing. There are no staff at all at night, which is stressful.
