This place was a terrible stay. The rooms were far too tiny, the heating didn’t work at all, the furniture was old-fashioned, and it was expensive. Problems started from the beginning: we booked through booking.com for 6 adults and 3 kids, but when we arrived there wasn’t space for the kids. Two adults and our 12-year-old had to share a double bed. We contacted someone at the hotel, which has no reception, and were told the owner was on his way with extra beds. He brought only 2, which was better than nothing, but the worst surprise was being charged 22 euro for them without being told when they were handed over. I’d give the place minus 3 stars if I could.

I stayed here for two weeks. It’s a clean, well-maintained self-help hostel, and cleaners came on each weekday to tidy the room. Hauphbanhof is about a 10-minute walk away. There are several nice breakfast spots nearby, with an Italian restaurant right beside one of them. Downtown has plenty of stationary shops, restaurants and dinner places.

A lovely apartment with clean facilities. The ceilings slope, and the Wi-Fi only lasts 30 minutes.

The house is quiet and nicely furnished, and the housekeepers are very friendly. The room got quite bright because the balcony door had only a thin curtain. The bathroom stayed cold, and the heating only became lukewarm, which made for an unpleasant start to the day.

We found the stay very relaxing. The room is small and the kitchen tiny, but if you’re after a quiet place at a very reasonable price and can still make a hot meal, that can be perfectly acceptable. It’s a matter of making the most of those few square meters.
