At the top of the fountain, two baker boys are playing, or maybe fighting over a piece of pretzel. There’s no hero figure on its enormous pillar. The fountain and street name recall this area’s history as the bakers’ guild quarter. It began as a well, later became a pump fountain, and today it’s a decorative running fountain with a long tradition.
