Waldhotel Eskeshof

It's quiet and in a calm location, which makes Waldhotel Eskeshof a decent choice for a short stay. The hotel is generally fine, but a bit dated, and a lot depends on which room you get. Service is okay without being particularly memorable, and some things around maintenance, comfort, and atmosphere could be better. It doesn't really stand out.

Everything was so clean, and the location is beautiful. The sauna and pool are great, and breakfast was great too. Frau Wutzsk ( apologies for spelling), the night manager, was especially helpful and welcoming. I'd love to come back.

I picked this hotel as a base for a solo motorcycle trip, and it was a really pleasant stay. Everything was super clean, and the room was attractive and luxurious. The rain shower was lovely. After a hot ride I went straight into the pool, then enjoyed the saunas, which all seemed recently renovated and almost new. I ate dinner at the hotel restaurant on both days and had a great meal each time. I felt at home and would definitely come back.

The breakfast was top notch, with a good spread from sweets to scrambled eggs, so everyone can find something. I even appreciated the little rubbish bin on the table. The staff were very friendly and courteous, even when I, as an early bird, accidentally came down too early for breakfast. You can get fresh water at reception. The hotel sits a little way up a hill in a residential area. My three-star rating is mostly about the room. It's okay for a short stay, but I'm not sure about staying longer. There's no fridge for summer or hot days, and the bathroom only has a hand and body and hair wash. Even with the window closed, cold air or wind came in, and I could hear everything outside. The walls are thin, too. I would have preferred a gym to the swimming pool, but someone else booked the stay for me, so I missed having one. There's parking, though depending on the car, some spaces can be very small or narrow. Still, I had a good stay.
