Summer days here can be very noisy, with the locks operating constantly during the day. You'll also need to be okay with the diesel fumes from engines starting up. If loud engines and a party atmosphere appeal to you, this is the place. Our landlord spent eight hours working on his property with several brush cutters and a lawnmower, without giving us any notice. We'd been looking forward to relaxing and recharging on our vacation. When we politely brought it up, he reacted aggressively, insulted us, and made derogatory remarks about vacationers. He even addressed me informally. We found his behavior hostile toward vacationers and unacceptable, with no consideration for our needs.

There's a beautiful lake nearby, with fishing, boating, and houseboat trips among the activities. The holiday home itself is small and cozy. The toilet and shower are very small, but they do the job.

Peace and quiet, a lovely atmosphere, and everything needed to unwind made this a welcome break from the bustle. We were thrilled and felt completely comfortable. The facilities are top notch, and we'd happily return. It's definitely a hidden gem. Thank you!

When the season is busy, the lock operations and the cheerful crews on the ships create too much background noise, so I wouldn't recommend it then. In the off-season, though, it's idyllic.
