Unterer Gurethshof

The local area is so pretty, and the rooms are nice too. Imgard and Markus are wonderful hosts who are always willing to help. It’s a great spot for exploring the Black Forest.

The apartment was cozy and had everything I needed, from a kitchenette and toaster to a kettle, TV, and two coffee makers, one for ground coffee and one for pods. The shared kitchen is roomy enough for several families to cook together, and there’s plenty of space to sit in the common area and enjoy the farmer’s wife’s excellent homemade schnapps. This is a real farm, with cows, goats, sheep, two cats, and Border Collie Ronja, who’s both a skilled herder and a great playmate. I especially liked that the calves stay with their mothers. There are games and activities for rainy days, while sunshine calls you out into the countryside, which looks just like a painting. It’s wonderfully quiet, and I haven’t slept this well in ages. The landscape completely amazed me, like a postcard come to life. Thanks for such a lovely few days. I’ll be back, and next time I’ll go hiking more. P.S. All but one of the photos are unedited, it really does look like this here :)

We’ve already visited twice this year, and we’re planning another stay at this beautiful farm in winter. We’ve been spending holidays at the "Unterer Gurethshof" for five years, and from our first minute there we felt at home. The welcome, helpful care, and family atmosphere have stayed just as warm over the years, if anything, they’ve got even better. It’s pure relaxation any time of year. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and you won’t be missing anything. If you want peace and a chance to unwind, this is the place. Keep up the great work, everyone!

We always love coming back. The area is fantastic and so peaceful, and the hosts are incredibly lovely. A farm holiday here is just perfect, with such a great atmosphere.
