ACHAT Hotel Zwickau

The coffee was pleasantly strong, and breakfast was decent, though I’d swap out the pre-boiled eggs. Seven-minute hard-boiled eggs aren’t much to look forward to. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable without being too soft, and everything was clean.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and the price was reasonable. The staff were really friendly, and the location was easy to reach. My room was comfortable and very clean, with everything I needed. I just wish the little bottle of water in the room were bigger. ;)

I stay here fairly often, sometimes for quite a while, and generally feel fine about it. Still, at about 90 euros a night, a few things don’t match the price. The breakfast used to be excellent, but what’s offered now feels far too limited for the amount we pay. I understand the coronavirus situation has changed the usual service, though. The internet on the floors is very weak and keeps dropping out, which is a serious drawback for a business hotel. If the explanation is that too many people are connected, the hotel still needs to work on fixing it. There’s also too little separation between rooms and apartments, so loud voices and other noise, and especially smells, often come through.

The room was large and had a fridge, but there was no air conditioning. The tram is nearby, and with the window open the noise is a lot. Restaurants are a bit far from the hotel. Breakfast was average, nothing special.
