It was okay.

The town center is right nearby, making this a handy base for exploring in any direction through the Bavarian Forest. We were surprised by how much space the “room” had: it was actually a large, clean apartment with lovely furnishings and plenty of amenities. Breakfast was wonderful, too, and the staff regularly checked whether we needed anything.

The cold in the apartment was the biggest problem for us. Even though underfloor heating is advertised, it was switched off and did little to help. We often saw only 17-18 degrees late at night or early in the morning, after daytime temperatures of 16-18 degrees and nights around 10. The tiled bathroom floor was colder still, and there was some dampness. A fan heater was provided, but that doesn't solve the issue and made it seem like the problem was already known. At €120 a night, normal room temperatures should be the bare minimum. We came home sick, which was simply unacceptable. The location is nice and there are parking spaces in front. The rooms have fairly standard furnishings, though the facilities are starting to show their age. The refrigerator is far too small, the lighting in the rooms isn't really adequate, and water flooded the bathroom after a shower. The shower door needs urgent attention. Thick floor towels aren't a proper fix. Breakfast was standard, with refills available if requested. The breakfast room service staff were very friendly.

I felt very comfortable here and would happily recommend AngerResidenz. The rooms are spacious and really quiet, and the building stays pleasantly cool in summer thanks to good insulation. It reached 36 degrees Celsius while I was there. The kitchenette has what you need, and the Wi-Fi is quick. The host and the person serving breakfast were both friendly, and there's lots of parking right at the hotel. See you again!
