"Gaby" - 250m from the sea in Funen

A surprisingly splendid stay, especially the breakfast buffet in the morning.

The place looks nice online, but it didn't match what we found, and we won't be coming back. At check-in, we'd booked a sea view and got it for the first night, then on Saturday we had to move back to the room we'd originally been assigned. That room was dirty and uncleaned, and its living room window leaked. Breakfast was dull, with dry food and little snails that seemed to have come straight from frozen. Water dripped from the ceiling onto people's heads, and buckets were left on the floor. The breakfast buffet area felt damp and clammy. Checking out took ten minutes because the person there was on their second shift. The hot tub was 795 kr for two hours. They'd said no to it when we arrived, and there were no prices on the website. We ended up with a free stay, but that hasn't made us want to return. 😡

The room was bright and clean, with a comfortable bed, good facilities, and tasteful decor. Everything seemed well looked after. Breakfast was varied and tasty, with fresh bread, cold cuts, fruit, coffee, and juice. It was a peaceful way to start the day. Hotel Assens is near both the harbor and the city center, so it felt quiet while still being easy to reach the cozy streets. The staff greeted me with warm smiles as soon as I arrived. I stayed yesterday and had a positive experience from beginning to end. I'd gladly return and recommend it to couples, families, or business travelers looking for comfort, good service, and a central spot in cozy Assens. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The hotel was okay, but the flagpole outside made noise constantly. Its cord rattled day and night because it hadn't been tied properly. There isn't much to do at the hotel, and the so-called pool is really a hot tub that costs 1000 kr to use. The greed brings the rating down.
