Hotel 9 Små Hjem

Being on the fifth floor without a lift can be tough with heavy bags, so bear that in mind. The apartment hotel setup also means there aren’t regular hotel services, though they explained this in advance. My room was spacious and clean, and the small bathroom was fine for a couple of nights. Some of the furniture could be more comfortable, but the price was affordable. I enjoyed staying in Østerbro, with its bars, cafes and restaurants and easy access to transport hubs. It was my first time staying outside central Copenhagen, and I have no regrets.

I lived here for two months and only had one real issue: the shower temperature was unreliable. The staff were extremely friendly, the rooms were nice, the beds comfortable, and the kitchens well stocked. It’s also very close to local transit, bakeries and shops. A great place to stay in a fantastic area.

The pillows were terribly uncomfortable, almost flat like towels. The floor was so dirty that my socks turned black after a few hours walking around. I could hardly breathe in the room, which felt like a dusty construction site.

Our flat was on the ground floor, which was lucky since I’d read that apartments could be on the fifth floor and had also seen that mentioned on booking.com. It was small, cozy and had what we needed for a few days. The heating in the bathroom and kitchen, including the heated floors, stayed on the whole time. We didn’t know how to adjust it, and the flat got very warm. The area itself was quiet, close to a metro/train station and within walking distance of the city centre. Reception is in another building and only open for limited hours, but the hotel sent instructions for getting the key card and finding the apartment.
