A Hotels City

The room was mouldy and the bathroom setup, with the toilet in the shower area, was disgusting. The flush was broken the whole time, and I had to ask for toilet paper because staff didn’t refill it. Across all four nights, the floors weren’t vacuumed and the beds weren’t properly made. There was also noise all night through the thin windows, plus a draft when they were open. I paid a 550DKK deposit for a minibar that wasn’t there, and the fridge didn’t work. At this price the room and service were nowhere near acceptable. I should have read the reviews first. Don’t book here, spend the money on a proper hotel.

There was no parking, and after I parked in front of the hotel I got a pretty hefty fine. The place is close to the centre, but I’d still stay farther away rather than come here. My non-smoking room smelled like a smoking bar, and I got just one towel, with no glass anywhere for my own water. It was called a double room, though it felt like being in a bathroom. If one person wanted to shower while their partner used the toilet, that simply couldn’t happen. By far the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I’d give it less than one star if I could.

They were friendly and kind, and the room was extremely clean. Check-in was self-service and everything worked simply and efficiently. There was renovation work going on. Despite what some reviews said, our room was warm. For one night, it was absolutely fine for the price.

The room was uncomfortably hot, and there was no proper way to cool it. I had to leave the window open, so street noise carried on all night and made it feel like sleeping in the middle of a carnival. The room also wasn’t clean when I arrived, and several messages to staff got me no reply or help. At this price, the comfort and service should be much better. I wouldn’t recommend A Hotels City Copenhagen. Save yourself the frustration and stay elsewhere.
