Copenhagen Houseboat

The water view was stunning, and early mornings spent watching people canoe were a memorable, unusual treat. The location is excellent and peaceful, with everything within walking distance. The room was perfect for my spouse and me. Breakfast was minimal but enough, and free coffee and hot water were available around the clock. I'll choose this place again on my next Copenhagen visit. Rose at the front desk was especially helpful and always greeted us with a smile.

The room sits right at water level, so you feel part of the lively waterfront. Breakfast was lovely, self-serve, and you can eat by the huge canal-facing window or take it up to the rooftop deck.

The bathroom was the one part I really disliked: its glass doors and windows offered no privacy, and I wish there had been a curtain over the shower window. Not everyone wants to be seen naked. Aside from that, I had a wonderful stay. The owners were very kind, and the breakfast was decent, even if the selection wasn't huge. The bed felt a little hard to me, but I slept well. The views from the room, breakfast hall, and rooftop are gorgeous, and being right beside the water felt like a dream. It's pricey, though the location makes it easy to walk almost everywhere, with a metro station about 10 minutes away and a bus stop by the bridge next to the hotel. There's no air conditioning, so the room can get hot; opening the windows helps, but brings in noise from the nearby bridge. We also found several little spiders in the room. They didn't bother me, but if you're scared of them, the friendly owners could probably help. My favourite hotel in Copenhagen, and I'd recommend giving it a try.

The room was clean, and the view was excellent. Breakfast was pleasant too. It's a quirky place, definitely different from a standard hotel. Just know that the glass bathroom door is fairly see-through if you're sharing the room with someone.
