Scandic Odense

The breakfast was the one good part, it was really nice. The room was unbearably hot even though it was 23C outside. There’s no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan, and opening a window brought in loud traffic noise and fumes. I barely got any sleep, and other guests were complaining about the heat too. The shower was very weak. Also, the light by the door only switched off when you took out your doorcard, which meant you couldn’t use a bedside light. In the morning, the maid opened the emergency exit door to let in some cooler air. I won’t book a Scandic again.

The hotel was clean and nice, much like the other Scandic hotels we’ve stayed at, and breakfast was good. It was farther from Odense center than I’d expected. As Scandic members, our children were supposed to get free mocktails during the stay, but nobody mentioned or offered them. We only noticed that benefit in the thank you email afterward, which was a bit disappointing over such a small detail.

We stopped for one night on the way back to Sweden. Parking was free, but the price for the night was very high compared with the other hotels on our trip. Breakfast also fell short of what I’d expected.

We stopped here while travelling through Denmark because it’s close to the freeway, and had a very positive stay. The staff were amazing, and their hospitality alone would bring me back. It also seems to host conference visitors, so it’s more than just a place for travellers to stop. The hotel is very environmentally conscious. Recommended.
