08.10.2025 My girlfriend and I were traveling from Hamburg to Copenhagen and spent one night at the nearby Motel by the main train station in Tønder. I'd booked dinner at this lovely little boutique hotel in advance. When we arrived, three young women welcomed us kindly and spoke very good English, which helped since we don't speak Danish. We were early, and they offered to seat us right away, but we decided to have a drink first in the nice bar. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I had the Steak Tartare, my girlfriend ordered Pork Cheek, and for dessert I got the Lemon Mousse while she chose the Cheese & Biscuit platter. It may cost a little more than an average restaurant, but the quality felt worth the price. I'd highly recommend it to all kinds of guests, including tourists like us. If I'd had more money with me, I might have stayed at the hotel too, but the Motel worked better for us that time because we needed the local trains.

We got to the hotel late because of train delays, but even with the kitchen closed, the restaurant staff kindly brought us bread and drinks. The room was clean and pleasant, with a comfortable bed, and I liked the original artwork on the walls. Breakfast was incredible, with plenty of choice and everything hot and fresh, far beyond a standard hotel buffet. Dinner was wonderful too: my beef tenderloin and my partner's pork cheek were both delicious and cooked perfectly, so tender they melted in our mouths. The location is beautiful and quiet, with a garden and walking path just outside, and the main shopping street a little farther on. Everyone was friendly. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

A cozy place with friendly staff, good breakfast, and parking. The rooms are a good size and nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable. It worked well for an overnight stop on a longer trip. I noticed some good hiking routes nearby, though I didn't get a chance to try them.

We stayed in a standard room at this pretty boutique hotel in a lovely town. It wasn't very big, but everything was nice, and the shower was great. The hotel is close to the town centre and very quiet. We didn't try dinner or breakfast, though they looked lovely.

The hotel is beautiful and the setting lovely. We had room 12.5, which was nice, but the bed was so soft that I could barely sleep. It was a summer night and the room only had heavy winter duvets. The air conditioning was hard to control. If it wasn't running constantly, the humidity made it feel like we could hardly breathe.
