Casa Mundo Bed & Breakfast

I hate leaving a bad rating, but this was easily the worst sleep I’ve had in a long time. The host was friendly, and the morning view was nice, but the room wasn’t as advertised. Booking.com showed an 8/10 rating and completely different pictures. The ad said nothing about a dark, cramped, smelly basement room with mold in the bathroom. I should have checked Google too, since I found the Booking reviews and pictures misleading. Don’t come unless you’re willing to end up sleepless in the basement. There was a strong sulfur smell from the boiler room that didn’t go away with the windows open. The bathroom was dingy and dirty, there was no hot water from the tap, and there was almost no way to contact the host because we were cut off and couldn’t just ask a question. People were stomping loudly on the floors above at 3 a.m. I’m astounded it had an 8/10 rating. I should have paid more attention, and won’t make that mistake again.

I never even got to check in. The host shouted at me at the front door when I arrived 30 minutes early, saying she’d been asleep and I’d woken her. When the door opened, there was also a stale, old-house smell that put me off. Unless you’re okay with being shouted at by a rude, aggressive woman, I’d avoid this place.

It was a really pleasant stay in a typically Nordic house, with lovely scenery and a cosy retro feel. The host was great and gave us complimentary tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable, the WiFi was free, and the decorations and paintings were lovely. The host is the artist behind the paintings. I’d recommend staying here.

A quaint little B&B with a nice main room and double bed, plus a separate room with bunk beds. The kitchen was fully equipped, and tea and coffee were provided. The landlady was helpful and accommodating. There are quite a lot of stairs to the main entrance, then more steep, narrow stairs to the apartment. The bathroom was very basic.
