A heads-up on finding it: the actual location is 100 meters from the tag, so keep walking until you see the sign. The hostel is very close to the ocean, and during hurricane time waves could reach the garden. If you love the water, that makes it a great location. The beach is a mix of gravel and sand with few corals, and the water is clear. In just 50 meters of snorkeling today, I saw three large Synanceias, four small Pterois, two medium-sized Gymnothorax javanicus, a large Bothus lunatus around 40 cm, a small Bothus lunatus around 15 cm, a large searobin, and some black and blue damselfish and angelfish. A friend said they'd seen turtles and stingrays before. The ecology is rich, and the fish aren't afraid of people. Swim if you can, or wear shoes, since Synanceias and Devil Sea Urchins with poisonous stings are easy to step on, especially at low tide. There are no air-conditioning units, but the fan keeps things cool, which is acceptable for the price. Small shops and restaurants are nearby, the city isn't far, and it's on the bus route. Right on the beach, and clean, safe, and conveniently located. Hubert and everyone working there were kind and helpful. They can also arrange tours and rides. It's a great place to meet people and socialize, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Dominica.

The place was very clean, with free Wi-Fi and friendly, helpful staff. It faces the Caribbean and has access, but there isn't comfortable seating. There were no safe electrical converters for the UK electrical system, and the kitchen's electrical setup was an improvised tangle of extension cords.

The location is great, with an easy walk into town and nearby food and gas stations. That's the upside. A day and a half before I was due to travel to Dominica, they messaged me to say my room wasn't ready, even though they'd already taken the deposit. I couldn't afford to book somewhere else. After that, it was impossible to communicate with them, which made everything more stressful. The water never got hot, and the pressure was barely there. I won't use this place again and suggest staying somewhere else.
