The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay, and a special thanks to Samira N and Funny Hunt for making it extra memorable. We had a great time at this all-inclusive resort and would love to return. The beach was clean and beautiful, broad enough for long walks or relaxing. There was plenty of variety in the food, and we always found something we liked.
You could always find a quiet spot under the palms along the hotel’s very long beachfront, and the beach itself was incredible. Our room stayed spotless and well cared for, with clean towels every day. There was a great choice of delicious food, and the place had everything we needed. I’d happily return and recommend it.
The weather and water were nice, and the beach looked good, but there weren’t enough lounge chairs for the crowds. The food was absolutely inedible, even at the restaurants open to super VIP guests, and the alcohol was watered down with no top shelf options. For fifteen thousand, it felt like throwing money away. They call it all inclusive, but regular guests can eat at only 2 of the seven restaurants. Unless you’re a super VIP, a tier above VIP and far above ordinary guests who don’t know the setup, you’re stuck with those two, and everything there is frozen, including fish and meat. Regular visitors get hardly any perks. Nobody speaks English. The bathroom ceiling fell on my head, and the steps are at such an angle that my wife and I fell on our first day. My knee was injured, and I had cuts and swelling, but they didn’t care. They didn’t care about the ceiling either. Kids urinate all over the beach. I’ve traveled to the finest places all over the world, and this is the biggest garbage, most disgusting, dirty, disorganized, dangerous place I’ve ever been. I’d never come back even if it were free. Unfortunately, I came 43 weeks and can’t wait to go home to the snow. Trust me, you are not going to enjoy it. This was the worst vacation of my life. Stay away and do yourself a favor.
We’re only on day three at Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham, and it’s already been a nightmare. My wife and I are here with our two-year-old and five-year-old, and the nights have been extremely hot. The kids are visibly uncomfortable and suffering, but no one seems to show urgency, empathy, or offer a solution. The air conditioning in our room wasn’t working when we arrived, and the room was well over 30°C. I called straight away. Someone checked it and explicitly said it was “fine,” even though the vents were blowing hot air. Maintenance came again on day two and gave us the same response. It still blew hot air. Today I spoke directly with the manager. They’re supposedly fixing it again, but she refused to move us to another room despite the resort clearly having availability. She gave no real explanation, just no. Our room is on the ground floor, and the insect trap at the bottom of the door was cracked. A huge cockroach came in on the first night, and I had to catch and dispose of it myself. Around midnight the next night, I woke up with a gigantic cockroach crawling on my foot. That says plenty about the cleanliness and conditions here. I’m deeply disappointed and honestly angry. This isn’t what you expect from a resort holiday, especially with young children. Completely avoid this place and go somewhere else.
The lobby was neglected, with stained seats and a strong cigarette smell. Tables by the beach were dirty, the public restrooms weren’t clean, and the staff seemed unprofessional. The food quality was poor throughout our stay. From day one, our room was in terrible shape. There were mosquitoes, the air conditioning didn’t work, and the smell of tobacco was unbearable. The Wi-Fi didn’t reach the room. Outside our door, an ashtray with trash, cigarette butts, and used glasses was left there for more than a day. We complained several times at the front desk and to the guest service manager, but they only moved us the next day. The new room was slightly better, though problems continued. I have photographs supporting each of these points. The experience was extremely unpleasant and far below what was promised. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
