Sunset Samana

The trip to the Duarte Cave was fascinating and unforgettable, and David is a fantastic host and tour guide. He’s friendly, knows the area well, and clearly loves sharing it. Sunset Samaná is beautiful, with a view that takes your breath away every time. If you get the chance to visit, don’t hesitate. We fell in love with the place.

One part of my stay really disappointed me: there was an openly separatist Catalan flag displayed on the property. I respect people’s right to their beliefs, but I think a hotel should be a neutral, welcoming place for international guests, rather than displaying political symbols that might make some visitors uncomfortable. I hope management reconsiders so everyone can feel respected and at ease.

We booked our room through AirBnB, and the views from the room and sun-bed were lovely. There are breathtaking views from different spots around the property, and the pool was great to enjoy. The place is right beside the hiking trail for the 7 hidden beaches. The whole space feels like a work of art, incredibly beautiful, with David’s attention to detail everywhere. Some of the decorations made it feel like a museum or art gallery. It’s the most unique and memorable place we’ve stayed. The area is safe and quiet, and the positive energy meant my partner and I had some of our best sleep in the country. David, Fernando, and Veronica were all very friendly and welcoming. We’ve saved this place and would happily return.

Sunset Samaná feels like a place where magic is real. The views bring together the ocean, mountains, and sky, and the sunsets are spectacular. Don’t miss the enchanting sunrises either. David welcomes you so warmly that it feels like arriving home after a long journey, and the place really does feel like your own. If you want authentic local food, ask him for his favorite spots. The people there welcome you with open arms and genuine hospitality.
