It’s a basic, cozy, quiet place in a handy spot. You’re close to what you might need, but far enough from the busy areas to get some rest in your room. I didn’t get breakfast, and when I asked what the price covered, they said it was just the room. There’s working water, a hair dryer by the sink, and somewhere to hang clothes. Rooms with AC are available depending on availability. Judging it as a 3.5-star option, I’d give it five stars. A good place, and I recommend it.

The room was terrible, so we checked out a day early. The sheets, covers, and blankets were stained, and the small fridge and stove had rust stains too. The bathroom had stains around the faucet, something stuck in the toilet drain, and a cramped shower, though the water pressure and hot water were good. I’d called the day before to ask about an iron and towels and was told every room had them. There was no iron when we arrived; when I asked, the front desk said they didn’t have one and didn’t know who had told me otherwise. The outside area, with its shops and restaurants, has a really nice European feel and lots of places to eat and shop. The hotel’s leafy back area and pool are nice too, though the pool could use some paint. I’d recommend Las Terrenas, but stay somewhere else.
We felt fooled. We booked this expensive hotel on Expedia because it was advertised with a nice pool and lots nearby, but the pool had no water when we arrived. There was no Wi-Fi, electricity, or water for the toilet, so those were a rough two days. Reception staff didn’t speak English, though English had been offered. They wouldn’t refund us, and neither would Expedia. I understand things can be difficult after a hurricane, but they should fix the hotel before offering facilities that aren’t available. Don’t go there. Andi
The garden, pool, and rooms were the highlights for me. I absolutely loved the place and had a great time. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, and did a great job. Thanks for that, see you next year.
It’s right in the middle of everything in Las Terrenas, with places just steps away, and it felt safe. The staff were great, and it’s really good value.
