Hostal Doña Chava

Doni helped us check in and patiently answered all our questions about the area. The hospitality was great, and the rooms were very clean. It also felt like being surrounded by nature. We highly recommend staying here.

I’ve brought groups of college students here a couple of times, and the hotel handles large groups well. It’s a great base for visiting the many beautiful Dominican National Parks. There’s a park with food and bars playing music about six minutes away, and the beach is roughly a 15-minute walk. I’d recommend staying here.

We’ll definitely come back. This family-run place feels cozy and relaxing, and the whole family staff, especially Dona Chava, is welcoming and happy to offer advice or help. The prices are affordable, the coffee is the best, and you often meet friendly, interesting people here. It’s a hidden gem for travelers who like small, comfortable hotels and hostels, and it’s become very close to our hearts.

The patio, with its large trees and bushes, feels like a park and is a nice place to sit and unwind. Parking is free and the Wi-Fi is excellent, but the rooms are very small. We stayed three nights and got no room service at all. The receptionist and kitchen staff were friendly, though the kitchen only opens for breakfast. Why is the bar closed?
