Playa Palmera Ocean View Apartments

I’ve stayed here 3 times in total, twice in an ocean-view unit and once without the ocean view. I’d consider buying a unit here and will definitely return. They spray for mosquitoes daily around 6pm. I left the resort during that time because I have a weak immune system. If you’re like me, I recommend carrying Vit C or activated charcoal tablets like Takesumi found on Amazon to help detoxify.

We had an apartment with a sea view for a week, and it had all the amenities we needed. The sargassum on the beach meant we couldn’t swim, even though the hotel was cleaning it, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The place was practically deserted and had no atmosphere. The spa was supposed to be open but was empty and didn’t offer all the services, so we went to a spa at another resort and got a much warmer welcome. Otherwise, the stay went very well. Activities like diving, snorkeling, and boat trips cost too much. I recommend booking through GetYourGuide, which is much more affordable.

Playa Palmera is a lovely choice if you want a peaceful, cozy stay away from crowds and noise. Everything was organized and well maintained, with no rushing around or competing for sunbeds. The whole area was spotless, and the staff paid attention to every detail. Florecita restaurant especially impressed us. The food was delicious, made with fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and had a distinctive flavor that will stay with us. It’s a great place to unwind and disconnect from everyday life. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed in an Airbnb here. It was quiet and clean, but the whole area was very hot, and the pool hours were really strict.
