The staff were friendly, and breakfast was simple but included toast, eggs with cheese and ham, fruit, coffee, orange juice, cornflakes, and yogurt. The building is charming and the location is very good. The lighting in the room could use improvement, with more lamps and a softer color, and nightstands would be nice too.

The staff were amazing, especially considering what they had to work with. Still, I hate fake reviews because they’re so misleading. The hotel is lovely and full of character, but we didn’t get the room we booked. We had reserved a street-side room with a balcony and king bed, then got a dirty room that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived, with a double or queen bed instead. The first night, the air conditioner and fan were caked with dust. The mattress pad was shredded, the sheets were extremely thin, and there was mold on the bathroom walls. The light fixture was hanging out of the ceiling, with a lizard living in it. It looked impossible to clean the mattress pad, so I’m not sure when it had last been changed. The next night, we still didn’t have the room we’d booked. The AC wasn’t working properly and spat ice onto my husband’s head all night. The sheets were still the same thin, shredded ones. The sink was clogged, and when the night staff opened the drain in our room, the exhaust and stink came into the room and stayed there overnight. It leaked all night too. The stairs are open to the elements, which gives the place character, but they get very slippery in the rain. Some rooms flood as well, and our friend’s room was one of them while we were there. With COVID, I’d have thought cleaning would be a priority.

We stayed in room 11 up on the roof, with sights and top restaurants nearby within walking distance. There’s guarded parking within walking distance too. The staff were friendly, service came with a smile, and breakfast was good. It’s a super location in the colonial zone. What more can I say?

A charming little place with outgoing, outstanding staff and a good breakfast. It was hard to find in the storm and late at night, especially after I got lost, but someone was still waiting for me well past midnight. He was really cool, got my room key, carried my bag up the stairs, and made me feel welcome. The ladies who made breakfast were nice too.

We stayed at Casa Naemie toward the end of our trip, and it was one of the best hotels we stayed in. It was clean and nice, the TV and AC worked well, and there wasn’t much street noise. Breakfast was really good, and the amazing staff were accommodating and made us feel at home.
