The rooms are basic but adequate, which worked for me since I wasn’t planning to spend much time in the hotel. My shower had hot water and decent pressure. I felt very safe, and the location is convenient: less than 2 blocks from El Conde, a pedestrian shopping street, 1 block from a supermarket, and a five minute walk from Parque Colón, with restaurants and lots of life. The staff really looked out for me. They helped with Ubers and getting around, and even worried when I didn’t wake up for breakfast. They kept the cafeteria open so I could eat. They can also bring it to your room for a modest fee, FYI.

The building has charm and the rooms are clean, but I wouldn’t stay again. A few small fixes could make a big difference: my AC was so loud I couldn’t use it, and breakfast service was inconsistent, with no staff around on several mornings. What made me most uncomfortable was a staff member repeatedly crossing boundaries. I was traveling alone as a woman, and his overly friendly behavior went past what felt appropriate. Once, he came up to my room to deliver breakfast, which made me uneasy. One morning a supervisor seemed to be drinking alcohol early in the day and smelled strongly of it, which raised questions about professionalism. The hotel has potential, but I couldn’t relax during my stay.

For a basic hotel, this is one of the most charming and nicest places in the whole area, and the price is absolutely great. The interior is very nice, the rooms are clean, and the staff are highly professional and courteous. Manager Jessy Aybar is one of the best managers I’ve met in my worldwide travels, super professional and friendly. Just be realistic about what you’re booking: if you expect the Hilton or Hyatt standard, go there. We’re right in the middle of the uber popular Zona Colonial, and I’m extremely happy here. You’re gonna love it if a basic hotel is what you want.

The staff had a good attitude, and I just kept calmly telling the Lobby Attendant what was happening. It all seemed beyond their control, so I’m guessing this is normal for all rooms. The whole thing was unexplainably horrific, though. I paid $55, and “you get what you pay for” doesn’t cover this. The first room had a leaking A/C. We went out to eat for an hour and returned to find half the room flooded. In the second room, the bathroom leaked. The Lobby person told me, “OH no, don't shower let me change your room again because that water may be sewage,” after I’d already gotten leaked on just trying to use the restroom. 🤣🤣🤣 The third room upstairs looked like a closet and reeked of humidity, like nobody had been in it for a month. The restroom seemed bigger than the bedroom. Lol.

The people are very nice, and the area is nice too, though parking is difficult if you have a car. It was quiet at night. The rooms are very basic, outdated, and could be cleaner. Breakfast is also very basic, and if you’re on the go, it’s not worth waiting for.
