The traditional character of the building is nice, and the location is good, though construction all around is ongoing. Once that's finished in a few years, the area should be much better. For a low budget, the price is the hotel's strongest point. Breakfast is included, with a good choice of pastries and drinks, but nothing hot. My room was small but tidy, with a compact bathroom and strong hot water. The stairs are pretty, but there's no lift, which is a problem with luggage. There seems to be a space where an old lift was, so installing one would be a useful investment. The rooms could also use some work to feel more comfortable and modern. WiFi barely reached the rooms, and I had to sit on the stairs to get connected. Staff were good, but didn't seem willing to help with bags. A decent budget stay in a good spot, with quite a bit that could be improved.

The terrace is great, and the stairs are very pretty. Staff were friendly, and the location is excellent. Breakfast was good, particularly for anyone who likes bread and pastries. My twin room was basic, with a small private bathroom.

The terrace is a great place to watch the sunset, and you're right at the start of the Casbah. It's a beautiful historic building, and breakfast is included with the reservation, which I really appreciated. The room was small but comfortable, with AC and a private shower. I'd come back. Recommended!

During the rain, water leaked through the ceiling of my room on the fifth floor. There's no elevator, which wasn't mentioned in my booking, and nobody offered to help with my luggage. They couldn't even arrange a taxi to a restaurant in the torrential rain, and there was no umbrella. After the day's Ramadan fast ended, I ran for my life. At check-in they tried to charge 18,000 dinars instead of the 8,500 shown in my booking. I refused, and when they couldn't charge my card, they made me pay through a suspicious link that they said was 'like PayPal', but definitely wasn't PayPal. They also charged 2,000 dinars extra for keeping my luggage for two hours, without giving me a receipt. Before I arrived, they'd given my number to a third party, a driver with a totally wrecked car, who started bothering me on WhatsApp several days before the trip. There are repairs going on in all the surrounding buildings, and the whole street is hard to walk along. I can't list all the awkward things that happened. Avoid!
