City Algiers Hotel

We were away from the hotel when 120 euros was stolen during our three-night stay. There was a safe in the room, but it didn't work. We told the hotel manager, who didn't resolve it or offer any compensation.

I left a bag behind with important documents and money in it, and the owners returned everything safely. Their honesty and integrity really stood out, and the management was professional and trustworthy. I came away with real peace of mind. I was visiting Algiers for a funeral and had a great stay at this modest sized hotel before returning to Toronto. It's well maintained and right in the heart of the city, with easy access to the major areas. My room was very clean, with working wifi, air conditioning, and reliable hot shower water. Breakfast was simple but more than enough to start the day. It's comfortable and convenient, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Algiers. I'll definitely return.

The long staircase leading to the hotel is difficult to manage with luggage, and getting in is inconvenient. But the main problem was the way the receptionist treated us. We arrived with a confirmed reservation, but he was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He said he couldn't find our booking and offered no explanation or help. The three of us, all women, felt uncomfortable and sat down to find somewhere else to stay. Once he saw we were booking elsewhere, he got aggressive and shouted at us. He even left the front desk to confront us directly, continuing to yell in an intimidating, threatening way. We felt completely unsafe and disrespected, and the experience left us shaken and traumatized. It was one of the most upsetting, unprofessional experiences we've had while traveling. Please don't book this hotel.

Yazid is a wonderful person, and I really appreciate everything. It was a wonderful stay, and the location is incredible.
