The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was a real bright spot. We enjoyed both breakfast and the lunch buffet, and I appreciated that they arranged gluten-free cake and specially made toast for me. I booked two nights near the end of our Algiers break so my daughter and I could rest and have quiet time by the sea. The beach was the main reason for choosing the hotel, so it was a letdown that in April we weren't allowed to walk along it. Once, while we were walking together, someone whistled at us. It felt unsettling, even though the security staff were polite. I hope management can offer supervised or safer beach access instead of closing it off, as that would better suit what guests expect at a Sheraton. At check-in, I was asked to prove that my daughter was my child, which had never happened to me before. Sorting it out took time. I emailed the documents they requested but got no acknowledgement, which was frustrating. Our twin room was comfortable, though rather dated. I had stayed here about six years earlier and it didn't seem much had changed. I had booked a sea-view room, but ours was a long way from the sea and faced the pool instead. Thanks again to the team for the warm welcome. There were disappointments, but I still hope to come back.

We were mostly happy with our stay at the Sheraton Hotel in Algiers. It was clean, and the staff were friendly, so we'd recommend it. The door to our room wouldn't open because of a technical problem, and we had to move rooms. That was stressful with an important appointment coming up later that day. We would have appreciated some goodwill gesture or an upgrade, but neither was offered. For a five-star hotel, I expected a little more in that situation.

Room 5042 was spotless, comfortable, and so well organized, a 10/10 for me. I spent three lovely days in the VIP room at the Sheraton Hotel in Algiers. It was comfortable and well looked after, and the housekeeping team took such good care of it. Bilal, the supervisor, deserves special thanks for being professional, friendly, and attentive to every detail. Thanks as well to Djilali Fatma Zohra, Amira Abdesaid, and Sabrina Achour for their excellent service. The whole team was amazing, and the way people are treated and hardworking staff like Bilal are valued makes this a 7-star hotel in my eyes. My wife loved the stay. I'll recommend it to family and friends, and I'll definitely return with my family. 🥰🥰🥰

The food and drink service was the worst part of my stay. Breakfast was a mess too, with poor service and no well-trained servers. It was hard to believe this was a Sheraton. Room service was a disaster. The lasagna I ordered was undercooked, so I sent it back after one bite. The classic burger was okay, but the smashed burger the next day was missing nearly everything that should set it apart from the classic. The pizza was burnt underneath, as the photo shows. At the Italian restaurant on the first floor, I saw a chef shouting and arguing in the kitchen, something I'd never seen before. Our first dish took an hour and a half. We asked four times for olive oil and bread, and eventually I had to raise my voice before they brought oil from another restaurant in a bowl. My friend ordered carbonara and chicken Alfredo, but we were told they had no crème fraîche. I asked for veal scaloppine and got dry grilled beef instead. The server insisted it was scaloppine, following what the angry chef had said. It was the worst experience I've had at a five-star hotel's Italian restaurant, shameful, really. The hotel itself has a huge, nicely landscaped property on the beachfront in a very secure area, though it's a bit outside the city center. Traffic is unbearable whenever you plan to stay there, so factor that in. Check-in was smooth and friendly. The rooms are a decent size and comfortable, with a decent TV and good channel variety, but they lack many amenities. The basics were okay, though the minibar was empty and only a kettle and tea bags were provided. The grounds might be lovely in summer. The photos tell the story.
