ibis Constantine

Breakfast at Novotel was excellent, very complete, and included some delicious local dishes. The room felt a little old, especially the towels and blankets, and the bed was unstable. That didn't feel up to the usual Ibis international standards.

I told them at check-in that I would leave on the 29th and paid. Then on the 28th they said I had to pay for another day. Ridiculous service.

The only thing going for this hotel is its convenient central location. Otherwise, the rooms are extremely cramped, whether you book a single or a twin, with hardly any room to move around. The bathroom has no bidet or water spray, only toilet paper, which I found unacceptable for comfort and hygiene. Breakfast was mediocre, with little variety and bland food that barely justified the price. With such tiny rooms and missing basic amenities, it was very poor value for money. I don't recommend staying here.

Breakfast was also bad: there were no plates, and the food selection was marginal. The floor didn't look like it had been mopped recently. Fried eggs ran out, then later they brought some kind of egg soup that was undercooked and inedible. Perhaps the Novotel next door is better, but I can't recommend this hotel. I don't expect much from a budget hotel, but I do expect clean rooms from an international brand. This Ibis was one of the dirtiest places I've stayed in recently. The floors hadn't been swept or mopped, and the smell and ashes on the floor suggested the previous guests had been smoking. The glasses were disgustingly dirty, and the front desk seemed unconcerned.
