There are some useful things inside the pool area: the showers work, the water is hot, and there’s a large Jacuzzi plus three other pools, including one for athletes and two smaller ones with jets. But there aren’t enough lockers or hangers in the changing rooms, and I think a sauna should be part of the pool area, as it is in most places around the world. What really bothered me was the reception man. He clearly didn’t know what he was talking about, and he should learn to listen to guest feedback. At the spa entrance, the staff also didn’t seem trained or professional in customer service. We asked what services were offered, and an employee told us, “You will not find any of this in Brazil or Turkey,” then said, “This is not a hammam ta3 zenkha.” We understood that, and expected a more professional approach for the price we pay. Staff shouldn’t assume guests haven’t seen the world or speak to them like friends instead of greeting them as guests. I visited as a guest of the pool area. I’m Algerian, born and raised abroad, used to spas, hotels, and pools, and have been to more than 40 countries, so that’s the perspective I’m sharing.

The reception staff are nice, and Wi-Fi is available. I have fond childhood memories of this ordinary hotel. The service and food are wonderful, and residents get the spa for free. The pool was a little dirty, with hair in it.

The Hammam is beautiful and the infrastructure is actually not bad, which makes what happened all the more disappointing. I left feeling more stressed than when I arrived. Right after my massage, the manager was rude, insulting, and very aggressive. This was the worst SPA experience I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend paying 10,000DA for such mediocre service. I booked the Sultana treatment, then had to pay extra for the massage because its duration wasn’t stated in the description. I also got yelled at when I tried to return to the sauna, thinking access was free. It turns out only one sauna round is included. If you want another, they yell at you instead of just speaking politely.

The hospitality really impressed me. I’m pretty critical about customer service, but everyone treated me so well. The place was much cleaner than I expected, and everything was perfect. This hotel is beyond amazing and honestly, it’s dope. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip. The bad reviews are fake, or people are just being petty.
