Bebe was a lovely hostess and looked after us well. Breakfast was great, the price was right, and she was very nice. Still, I didn't get a restful night. Our first night was in the street-facing "matrimonial room." It was extremely noisy. A hallway light came on whenever someone walked up the stairs, shining into our room; even with a curtain, the light and the thin window curtains woke us several times. The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. We switched rooms the next night and got a softer bed, but it was still very noisy, with young hostel guests talking at all hours. Bright lights came through the very light curtains there too. I’d suggest setting and enforcing quiet hours from 10pm, and putting blackout curtains on the windows.

I’m really glad I found this place. The friendly, social atmosphere never felt rowdy, and the staff are what make it all work. Everyone, from reception and cleaning to the cooks and bartenders, was kind and welcoming. Stephanie was especially helpful and warm. She suggested good food and activities, gave me salsa lessons, and pitched in at the bar. Tony was a great bartender and good company too, so I probably spent a little too much time there. It was awesome.

The central location was convenient, and the rooftop was a nice place to hang out. They also have social events Monday through Thursday. I arrived in Baños at 1:30am by bus, exhausted, and was still able to check in, which was a huge help. Breakfast was nice: eggs, a piece of cheese, bread, juice, and coffee or tea. They also do a good lunch for $3.50. I definitely recommend the place :)

The rooftop bar has great views and staff, and the food is both delicious and affordable. The place is very affordable and comfortable, and the staff take such good care of you. I’d absolutely recommend it.

Erupcion art hotel is a good fit if you like meeting people while you travel. Head to the terrace, where Anthony will look after you at the bar, or find Stephy in the second-floor restaurant for delicious meals. They serve guests in several languages, and the bar has a good variety of local craft beers and other drinks. The view is amazing. There’s a propane stove to keep you warm on chilly nights. I planned on staying two days, but the staff’s warm welcome and the other travelers I met made me want to stay longer. I ended up staying five nights. They can also arrange nearby adventure trips at a good price. Come see for yourself.
