Hostal Plantas Y Blanco

I come back to this hotel nearly every time I'm in Baños. The rooftop terrace is a favorite, with a great view of the waterfall and old church. It's a good hostel for solo travelers or groups, with good food, though breakfast costs extra. Staff speak English well and were very accommodating. I'd recommend staying here.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and they helped me find tours at really good prices. We got an amazing paragliding tour for just 55$. The bedrooms were clean, and the bathrooms and shared spaces were very good. The rooms get quite dark because most windows have a sort of garage shutter that stays closed overnight until around 10 in the morning, so getting up early is hard. There's no good air conditioning either, and the air in the room gets kind of dry.

The manager was really helpful and accommodating, and we had a great stay. The rooms were clean, and there's a kitchen upstairs with a shared area where you can cook or make coffee in the morning. It's only a block from the main square. We highly recommend it.

The rooftop is gorgeous, with a kitchen and healthy breakfasts available. There's also a restaurant attached, with a cool fireplace atmosphere and good food. The hostel itself is beautiful and very clean, with comfortable rooms and exceptional staff. It's in a great spot in Banos. Easily one of my favorite hostels in South America, and I'd highly recommend it.
