One good thing was the TV over the bed, and the internet was fast when it worked. The rest of the stay was horrible from beginning to end. There was no kitchen curtain, even though the bathroom is there, so you have to be dressed when you come out of the shower because anyone can see you. The water only got warm, never HOT, despite the host insisting it was hot. I swear she’d know if she took a shower there. There was no heater, and it got cold at night and in the morning. Sunlight only came in late in the day, making it really hot then, while mornings stayed cold and dark. The walk up to the place has an extremely steep incline, so be ready to hike and sweat. It’s not close to any major Cuenca attractions. There was tons of construction and loud noise, the laundry room and trash area were filthy, and the dryer left red stains on several of our clothes. We also lost more than $600 after they refused to refund the two weeks we weren’t staying. We tried calling Airbnb, but they wouldn’t help. I wouldn’t normally leave a bad review, but the host kept making passive aggressive comments about us being negative and spoiled, so I wanted to share what we dealt with.

We spent five weeks here, and it was a great stay. The owner was happy to help with anything we asked for. We felt safe as foreigners and would definitely come back.

It’s peaceful here, with a lovely view and a great location. The rooms are well equipped, too.
