Hotel Boutique Castilla de Leon

My wife and I ended up arguing with the hotel over the phone and had to take a more expensive room. We were meant to check in late, by 8 p.m., but when I called to ask if we could go to our New Year’s dinner first and transfer a deposit to hold the reservation, I was told our room had been sold. They said the credit card payment through Booking.com was unclear or unsuccessful, even though I’d changed the card the day before and the booking site showed the reservation as confirmed. The hotel should resolve these kinds of problems with booking platforms instead of shifting the responsibility to the customer. This was a customer service failure, and it made the one night at Castilla de León hard to enjoy.

The staff made a strong impression, always warm, professional, and helpful. They offered recommendations and even helped arrange transport. Hotel Boutique Castilla de León also has a central location, so restaurants, attractions, and public transport were easy to reach, yet the hotel felt peaceful. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and quiet nights. The stylish lobby felt welcoming, and the hotel blends classic boutique charm with modern comfort. Housekeeping kept everything fresh and stocked with towels and toiletries. The spotless bathroom had excellent water pressure and consistently hot showers, and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable for remote work. Breakfast stood out too, with a varied selection of fresh local dishes and familiar options, all beautifully presented. The comfort and value exceeded my expectations.

The shower in room 102 was badly designed, with just one glass panel covering half the shower, so water spilled out. It also drained poorly and kept filling up to my ankles. The room felt very small for two twin beds. Even with those issues, I’d come back because of the price and how people at the hotel treat you. The customer service was excellent, the room and hotel looked beautiful, and I loved how carefully they cleaned my room during my stay. Everyone was very nice.

Cute rooms and a quaint feel in a central location, but we had trouble with noise and with the external parking garage they use for guests, so I rated it lower.
