Hotel Cuenca

There was a small library, a gym and a pool table, though I didn't get to use all the facilities because of time. I didn't eat lunch or dinner there, so I can't speak to those meals. Breakfast could use a bigger menu. The price was affordable, and the place seemed clean. The service was more than great, and the location put most of the historic buildings nearby.

I'd give it 3.5 stars. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but I struggled to get the shower to the right temperature because its handle was installed wrong. I checked out before 7:00 a.m., so I couldn't have breakfast. A few people at reception seemed unfriendly at first, though they were courteous when I spoke to them.

We spent two nights here and a nice, expensive jacket disappeared from the room closet while housekeeping was involved. When we reported it at reception, they said this never happens there, then blamed us for leaving it behind when we moved to the room down the hall. I can't recommend staying here. I can guarantee this happens often to other guests.

Our room had no window facing the street, so the ventilation wasn't great. The bathroom was huge and had a great shower. The hotel was nicely furnished and very good, though there is no elevator.
