Francisco’s care made our three nights at Eden treehouse even better than we expected. He arranged a car for our birdwatching outing and came along, sharing wonderful details about hummingbirds and other birds. It really seems like he’s passionate about the treehouse, birds, and nature. The rooms were clean and free of bugs, and we saw so many hummingbirds and Turcons. A very kind older lady made superb food. Staying there brought back a childhood feeling, and the beauty around us was so moving. If you’re going to Mindo, stay at the tree house. I loved it and hope to return one day with my loved ones.

I needed a few days away, and this place had everything I wanted. I tried both the treehouse, which was sensational, and the hottub room, which was fantastic in its own way. Breakfast was wonderful too. It was a great way to spend time surrounded by nature.

Staying in the tallest treehouse was surreal, especially taking a hot shower up in the tree with the elements all around. It had two stories, was comfortable, and had everything we needed. The room was clean and the views were phenomenal. The property trails are short but beautiful, especially at night, and the staff can lend you lanterns for a walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions, information, and booking activities. Breakfast was amazing, with huge portions. The wifi was very good, and we had phone reception the whole time. The location worked well for us, about a 10 minute drive from town, a couple of minutes from the zip lines, and 10 minutes from the waterfalls. An incredible experience, and I can’t wait to come back.

The treehouses and paths, along with the Punto Ornitológico Center, were my favorite parts of Mindo. From the property, the views open onto the Cloud Forest mountains, and you can see plenty of birds without going anywhere else. I stayed in two different treehouses. Each offered its own wildlife experience at a different height, and neither was better than the other. I saw larger birds in the canopy within a minute of entering the higher one. It had running water and electricity. There was also a beautiful bathroom hut for another treehouse I didn’t stay in. Along the path there’s a lovely hummingbird garden, plus a separate feeding area in front of the restaurant for tanagers and the more elusive toucans. The whole staff were sweet, and the prices were very reasonable. Mindo town sometimes has water and electricity outages, especially in the rainy season, I think. It happens across town, but things are often fixed within an hour. The hotel takes credit cards. There’s an ATM in town, but it’s only for nationals. If you need cash, hotel staff and taxis can take you to a nearby town about 20 minutes away for a reasonable price. I paid for my whole stay, including meals and laundry, on the morning I left. Staff often called taxis for me to go into town, and many taxi drivers have cards.

The room was simple, fun, and comfortable, set in a beautiful Amazon garden with an amazing view. We enjoyed birdwatching over breakfast in the shared patio, and spent nice afternoons on the covered patio above our room. Melissa looked after us like family, with such kindness and warmth. When one of our stairs cracked, Ivan came right out and fixed it in the rain. After we got back late and hungry from a long day of birding, Olga gave us more of her really tasty vegetarian dinner.
