We spent 3 nights at the San Juan Hotel in Cuenca and plan to return on our next trip. Anthony Ledesma at the front desk was a wonderful host, went beyond his duties, and made us feel at home. The hotel's location is great, and the staff were great too. I highly recommend it.

The staff make you feel at home, and there's security on the premises. Breakfast is excellent, with traditional options. For a safe, comfortable, affordable stay in the heart of Cuenca, Hotel San Juan is a great choice.

We had a perfect suite in the garden at this gorgeous, clean, well-kept hotel. Breakfast was good, and the staff went above and beyond. It's also very close to the central square.

The beach was wide and great for kids, and the children and teens in our family felt safe. They offered a few toys to borrow for the beach and free popsicles at noon every day. Get chairs early in the morning. The fitness area was really nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was busy but not overly crowded. We had a great family vacation, though there are a few things to know before booking. We booked 2 ocean side villas, but the online pictures were misleading. Our patio, shown in the photo I attached, opened onto the pool area. We were close to the ocean, but didn't get an ocean view, which was disappointing for the price. Food and drinks were mediocre. Breakfast could mean a wait of 30+ minutes for a table, and the sushi in the lobby wasn't available at every table because they said there weren't enough staff. We ate dinner off property for the rest of the trip and found some great spots.

We attended seminars here, ate at the restaurant, and visited friends who were staying here. The historic building is beautiful, just two blocks from Parque Calderon. Inside, it's airy and peaceful, with a quiet elegance throughout.
