Gran Hotel Del Coca

I spent four nights here on a business trip, and the location worked well for me: about ten minutes from both my destination and the airport. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. Breakfast had plenty of choice, more than I eat at home, and my usual fruit, yoghurt and toast kept me going until lunch. The set lunch menu was tasty and quicker than ordering à la carte. Dinner on my first night was less successful because the meat was very tough. My room was at the front on the third floor, and I could hear the traffic as if the window were open. If you're hoping for an early night or a lie-in, bring earplugs. I've seen reviews that seem to expect five-star standards from a three-star hotel, which makes me smile. For a three-star place, I'd rate it four out of five. Despite the noise, I was happy with my stay and would gladly come back the next time I'm in Coca.

I had a pleasant two-week stay, and the restaurant was clean with good food. Just keep in mind that the portions can be quite large. The pool is outdoors, though I didn't use it because it looked like it needed cleaning. On my second day, I returned from lunch about an hour after leaving my spotless room and found flies, ants and other insects all over the bed and floor. Most were dead, but some were still crawling. The receptionist apologized and moved me to another room within an hour. I appreciated the quick help, and the new room also had better Wi-Fi.

After eight days in the Amazon rainforest, having air conditioning was awesome. The staff were kind and helpful, and the hot shower was welcome. It's also very close to the airport.

19042021. The rooms are huge, which felt ideal for covid times, and the place and pool were clean. Service was good, the weather was perfect, and there was ping pong available. The view was okay. One small issue, there's no electrical outlet near the desk in the room.
