Sol de Oro

The room was comfortable and very good otherwise, but there was no hot water and no cable or internet TV.

I was surprised by how well kept the clean rooms were. The staff were great with customers, too. I saw the receptionist showing a group of foreigners around, something I hadn't seen much at other hotels. The location is superb and the price is hard to beat. My only reason for not giving five stars is the tiny parking area, with room for just two cars.

There was no real parking at the hotel. The lot they offer is 3.5 blocks away, and costs $4, while the hotel charges $5. We were five people but got only two towels. They kept saying they'd bring the rest whenever we asked at reception, but none arrived during our two-night stay. Breakfast was poor and unhygienic, and the restrooms were dirty. When we complained, reception ignored us. It was a bad experience.

The hotel is right in the city center, which makes getting around easy. It was extremely clean and the staff were friendly. The downside is the constant traffic noise and honking. The internet worked depending on where your room was.
