The place itself is very nice, and Bernardo is an amazing person. On our first visit in 2023, he was hardworking, friendly and attentive. He enthusiastically showed us the cars he builds himself in his workshop and warmly invited us back. We had an EXCELLENT experience then. That’s why, two years later, we booked through Booking.com and were excited to see him again. Instead, when we arrived, they called his wife. We said we were a little early for check-in and wanted to charge our devices and get on the Wi-Fi. Mrs. Carmen de Garzón yelled at us to leave the property and said she’d cancel our reservation, claiming it was a Booking.com error and there were no cabins, even though their office had called to confirm availability. She was extremely unpleasant and irrational. She couldn’t explain why we couldn’t stay or why we weren’t allowed to contact Bernardo directly. I looked at the reviews and saw that many with similar accounts of this woman’s behavior had been deleted. It seems to be a recurring pattern. Nothing about the place or Bernardo compares to the terrible experience this woman put us through.

The hotel is very quiet, but for the high price, we expected much more. Dinner by the lake was absolutely terrible. It was expensive, the food was awful, and the lake was very dark while we ate. I don’t recommend it at all. The bathroom shower was cramped, and breakfast was very basic. Overall, it felt very overrated and poor value for money.

We won’t be returning. The bathrooms were dirty, the beds narrow, the furniture very old and the towels frayed. For the price, the service and attention weren’t justified. The dirt paths were also dangerous for elderly people.

The website invites people to come eat, and the tourist map promotes the frog concert. But when we arrived at the grounds, we were turned away and told we weren’t welcome. How unfriendly.

A magical spot for couples, especially if you want to relax and disconnect from the world. The owners are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.
