Arrecife Montañita Hostal

We only stopped for a light lunch, so I can't speak to the rooms. The chicken soup was delicious, came with a whole chicken leg, and the beer was ice cold. The guy serving us spoke excellent English and clearly went over the options. Service was first rate. The bathroom was clean and had toilet paper, soap, and a hand towel.

The staff were hospitable and always ready to help, and at around $25 it was absolutely worth the money. There's a bar area near the kids' pool, and breakfast was good. The place is basic, but clean and quiet, and very well placed for the beach. There's also some kind of unofficial free parking area.

We booked for two days and stayed two weeks. I liked the security, prices, friendly hosts, WiFi, pool, and balcony. The corner rooms cost a little more, but you get the whole corner to yourself. It's right by the beach, where you hear the waves day and night, yet far from the crazy clubs. A splendid little place, and it did wonders for my sleep.

The staff were good and helpful, but the pool water was low. Is filling it up really too expensive? Other hostels on the same block cost less than half as much, more than twice the price here.
