The breakfast was a real letdown. We came on a Sunday morning for the oceanfront breakfast and found very little choice, pancakes that seemed microwaved, and cold, bad coffee. There were only two families there, which felt unacceptable for a Sunday morning by the ocean. The hotel has a prime spot at the Montinita Point, but it looks like it has been neglected and mismanaged for years. It needs major maintenance and updates to the rooms. With better upkeep and more attention to breakfast quality and presentation, it could be a gem of Montinita, even a 5-star property. I think it would take an experienced English or American general manager to turn the property and staff around. My recommendations are to replace the current general manager, do the needed maintenance, update the rooms, and improve breakfast.

The location worked really well for us, away from the chaos in town, with lots of places to sit and watch the waves. I was worried after reading the reviews, but we loved our stay. The room was clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were kind. We were very happy.

I booked through Expedia for two nights at a quoted 319, choosing to pay at the hotel. When I arrived, they said the app was wrong and wanted 353 instead. Ridiculous. I brought my speaker so I could listen to my own music, and sat away from people so I wouldn’t bother them, but the bar speaker was on and I couldn’t hear mine. For what I’m paying, I should be able to play my music. This doesn’t feel like a 3-star hotel, and the staff sucked. Never book here, waste of money.

It’s in the best spot by the beach and has a parking lot, but the hotel doesn’t meet Howard Johnson standards. The rooms are basic, humid, and musty.

Right by the beach, and we even got to see 🐋 🐋 ❤️✨️. This is my favorite place to stay in Montañita. Amazing experience.
