Tagualodge Hostel Manglaralto

There are hammocks all around Tagua Lodge, plus a kitchen and shared spaces where you can meet other travelers. It's relaxing and good value, just three blocks from a quiet, clean beach and about a 30-minute walk from Montanita. Luis was a wonderful host, fluent in Spanish and English. He often brought fresh organic produce from his local farm for guests to use. You won't regret staying here.

Tagua Lodge has private rooms, hot showers, a shared kitchen and Wi-Fi, a good spot to unwind on the Ruta del Spondylus. It's a 20-minute walk along the beach to Montanañita. I came for a week and ended up staying a month. Luis is a great host. Come chill out!

I spent a couple of years-ish living at Tagua with Luis and Kathy. I came back to see the new owner's son and talk about building a new website. Elias was lovely, and I feel Tagua is in good hands. I'm really excited to see what changes they make.

It felt like a home away from home, and I wish I hadn't had to leave. Luis is welcoming, kind and generous, fluent in English and Spanish, and always helpful with Spanish. He has a local farm and often brings back some of what he's grown to share. The place is clean, with a sweet little garden and a well-stocked communal kitchen. There's also plenty of space to hang out, including a hammock area, two dining areas and a bar. Wi-Fi worked well in the rooms and shared spaces. Montanita is close, about $1.50 by taxi or a 30-minute walk. I'd happily recommend Tagua.
